A photo shoot and celebration was in order, and on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the California Training Facility in Vista, the Team USA skateboarders did just that. A press conference was held and a few tricks were done, but the most important part of the day was recognizing the new (and familiar) faces that will be skateboarding for Team USA at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“It felt surreal to secure my spot,” said Chris Joslin, who officially earned his spot in late June. “Especially after the first year of getting so close and almost being on but then [missing the cut] at the last second. I almost felt like history was just going to repeat itself again because it boiled down to the very last day of Budapest [World Skateboarding Olympic qualifier event].”

After an intense year of various qualifying events the team is now final. There are three skateboarders per the four skateboard teams (men’s street, women’s street, women’s park and men’s park) for a total of 12 of the world’s best ready to represent for Team USA.

Their ages range from the youngest at 16 (Paige Heyn, street) to 29 as the oldest (Nyjah Huston, street). With almost 14 years spanning the gap, seven of the 12 competitors are not old enough to legally drink, while another competitor is a parent (Joslin, street). Each of them made their own sacrifices to earn one of the coveted spots, and now they will prepare for their biggest event yet in Paris this July.

Skateboard Street will take place July 27-29 and Skateboard Park will be August 6-8.

Be sure to give them each of the skaters on Team USA a follow on Instagram and watch them take on Paris 2024. We noted their current follower count below because the Olympics has a way of boosting people’s profiles.

One last thing: CONGRATULATIONS!
