More than just a contest, the 2025 snowboard Rockstar Energy Open (RSEO) is a place for the snowboard community to show support while engaging directly with fans of all ages and abilities. How do they do it? Each in their own way, and with more 25 partners coming together in the Culture Village area at the RSEO the place was loaded with activities and athletes ready to get the people fired up.

First and foremost, Rockstar organized an athlete autograph signing on Friday featuring Brandon Davis, Jill Perkins, Ylfa Rünarsdottur, Iris Pham, Torstein Horgmo, and Mikey Ciccarelli. The crew was busy signing posters and snowboard paraphernalia while taking selfie after selfie with the masses as they came by the tent.

“We kind of have that family aspect,” described Brandon Davis of the event and atmosphere at the RSEO. “We're trying to do something new here, and bring back the roots of snowboarding. So it's nice to come back together and connect as a team…It's special to have us all together for one week where we can just celebrate the culture of snowboarding.”

Rockstar athlete Jill Perkins says Friday's meet and greet with fans helped set the tone for the weekend.

"It's so important and fulfilling on both ends to have these kinds of human interactions at these events," she says. " I spend a lot of my time out riding in the streets where I don't see anybody, and the interactions are all kind of online. So to be able to sit and have a conversation with somebody at such a cool event is very validating. And it always feels really good iff we can do something good, if we can make somebody want to strap into a snowboard or go skate or do something that's changed their life... hearing those stories makes our job more fulfilling. And to me, that's my favorite story to hear."

If you didn’t make it today, don’t worry! Tomorrow (Saturday) there will be Red Gerard, Sam Taxwood, Nik Baden, Mons Roisland, Raibu Katayama and Gabe Ferguson ready with pens in hand to make your day. Don’t be shy—stop by!

Then there’s the 1910 booth, holding it down in an entirely different way. The art brand of legendary snowboarder Jamie Lynn is in the village ensuring the culture gets what the culture needs. Stop by the booth to enter a raffle (or bid online) to win one of Jamie’s original artworks!

If that’s not enough and you are still searching for a reason to stop by, get your board waxed! Purl Wax donated a ton of speed inducing wax to the event with the assist from local snowboard shop Breckenridge Underground facilitating a massive order. Fans are encouraged to stop by, get their sticks waxed, and then hit the slopes at maxed out speeds all weekend.

Other iconic brands are also onsite (like Oakley, Spy and Sun Bum), some in more ways than one. Nixon for example will be handing out custom trophy watches to each winner across the weekend, as well as awarding two “Best Time” winners of the Rail Jam.

Keep an eye out for Cordaroys convertible bean bags customized for the RSEO to be anywhere from on course, in lounge areas and around the Culture Village (as well as for sale online).

B4BC (Boarding for Breast Cancer) and Save A Brain nonprofits are each holding space in the Culture Village, and will also be participating in other ways. B4BC will be hosting an early morning “Pink Lap” to kick off Saturday at the venue, while Save A Brain’s founder Kelsey Boyer will be in the event as an RSEO sideline reporter.

“This culture is a big family, and we're all here together,” explained Curtis Sterner from B4BC. “You meet new people, and they become your family. Even the spectators and the people that come by the booth, they become your family…to have the opportunity to hold space for somebody that's dealing with cancer themselves, or someone in their family—it means the world.”

And, of course, Toyota will be all over Breckenridge offering free shuttles to people traveling between the hillside and downtown in order to take part in all of the festivities.

If you are in search of the most premium experience at the RSEO, you’ll need a ticket (and supplies are limited!) to enter the Outer Range Brewing VIP Lounge located ON the hill, practically in the action on course. The tickets cost $500, because the spots are coveted.

Lest we forget our faithful media partners SLUSH, Snowboard Mag, Torment, Snowboarder and Fuel TV. Their impact on the snowboard culture and abilities to unite us are forever felt.

That is just a small glimpse of what’s going on inside the Culture Village. To really understand the full scope of the activities and atmosphere…you need to be there in person!
