Braden Hoban Leads Top 10 Advancing From Men’s Street Semifinal | RSEO 2025
Braden Hoban won the Men’s Street Semifinal at the Rockstar Energy Open on Saturday, nipping second place finisher Kairi Netsuke by one full point after his Run 2 pass.

“It feels really good to qualify in first for the Final, especially when there's this level of skating already happening and all I'm trying to do is keep up, honestly, and just give it my best shot,” Hoban says. “Kairi’s run was just incredible, but I stuck to my same plan and it worked out. Thank God I got the safety line out of the way in Run 1, and then the upgrade line worked out, too.”

Hoban’s Run 2 featured a gap to back Smith down the big rail (an unconventional line to the biggest feature on course that nobody else was following), gap to backside noseblunt on the Hubba ledge, kickflip back tail shove-it on the bump-to-box, 360 flip up the step-up gap, kickflip frontside boardslide down the handrail, and a kickflip frontside nosegrind on the gap to Hubba.

The crowd went wild when his score came in, leaping him into the top spot.

“This is my favorite contest in the whole world,” Hoban says. “The vibe is truly unbeatable, because Portland really shows up for all these skaters. I feel very fortunate to be a part of it.”

Netsuke, who recently won X Games Osaka 2025 in June and will be a favorite in Sunday’s Final, also impressed in the RSEO 2025 Semifinal. He led from Run 1: backside noseblunt down the big rail, 360 over the hip, backside overcrook on the flat bar, nollie back heel over the hip, big flip up the step-up gap, heelflip back lip on the hand rail, and nollie inward heelflip over the hip at the buzzer. Falls in Run 2 and Run 3 kept him from answering Braden Hoban’s challenge.

Julian Agliardi finished 3rd, with full-pull runs in each of his three runs, featuring technical combos like a kickflip back lip and frontside 180 to switch crooked grind.
