Starting October 19, the VQS (Video Qualifier Series) reopens for the entire world to enter for cash prizes and their chance to earn an invitation to compete at the 2026 Rockstar Energy Open (RSEO) at Breckenridge Ski Resort on December 18-20.
Snowboarders can enter by posting video submissions to Instagram with the hashtag #RSEOVQS26 from October 19 through November 20. Five weekly cash winners will be awarded to men and women, and at the end, there will be men’s and women’s winners for the Viewers’ Choice and Best Trick categories as well.
When it is all said and done, the top men and women selected will ultimately be invited out to Breckenridge Ski Resort to compete on-site to earn their way into the RSEO main event.
Last year’s first-ever VQS received more than 100 entries from around the world, from which the top entries were invited to compete in the On-Site Qualifier at the RSEO. Of the five snowboarders who advanced through to the semifinal, Norwegian Øyvind Kirkhus came out on top. He then earned his way into the final, and in the end, he finished second overall.

“I wouldn't be here if not for this VQS opportunity,” said Øyvind in between all the action. “My best friend Tosh also got the opportunity. We both got in through the VQS, and now we're in freakin’ Breckenridge at the Rockstar Open ... I hope you all continue the VQS, because it is helping us out and it's helping the future generations.”
