Ibuki Matsumoto

Skating since age six, Ibuki Matsumoto has quickly found her place among the world’s best. She entered her first contest at age seven. Hailing from Kumamoto, Coco grew up less than two hours from two ski resorts, too. The Ukiuki Park in Uki City are her home stomping grounds for skating, though. She has said in the past that nobody paid her much attention as a child growing up in the countryside, but now that her international life has begun the world is finally starting to take notice. As they should, she won the 2025 Japan Open event in Mynavi before going on to nab 3rd at World Skate Rome, 3rd at X Games Osaka and then 4th at X Games Salt Lake City. As of 2025 the world is officially on the lookout for more big tricks from Ibuki. Her rail confidence is superior as is her controlled flick. Now that she has learned to combine the two skills, bets are shifting to back Ibuki.
