Portland fans packed the Street course on all sides for the Men’s Street Final, the last event of Rockstar Energy Open 2025, roaring as Kairi Netsuke, Julian Agliardi, 2025 VQS Week 7 winner Ivan Monteiro, Rockstar’s own Braden Hoban, and the rest of the 10-man field delivered across three 60-second runs apiece.

“I knew coming in that there are a lot of great skaters here, so I just tried to think about doing my best,” Netsuke says of his winning strategy. It’s the second huge win of the year for the Japanese skater, who also won X Games Osaka 2025 in June. “Above all I’m very happy that I was able to skate well here and have fun with everybody.”

Between VIP areas and the free zones for all spectators, if fans didn’t come early to secure a spot, it was tough to squeeze in once the event began. They were packed shoulder-to-shoulder, and there never seemed to be one crowd favorite: fans were appreciating runs and tricks from everyone down the roster.

Netsuke seemed unphased by both the crowds and the contest pressure, taking the lead from Run 1 and improving his score by 4 full points in Run 2.

His run featured a backside noseblunt on the handrail, nollie frontside heelflip over the hip, Cab heelflip on the quarterpipe, frontside tailslide 270 on the bump to ledge, nollie inward heelflip backside 180 over the bump to bump, backside nosegrind on the flat bar, nollie backside heelflip on the hip, bigflip up the Euro gap step-up, heelflip backside lipslide down the handrail, a nollie inward heelflip over the hip.

Netsuke’s Run 2 improvement was enough to fend off a Run 3 challenge from Julian Agliardi, who leapt from 9th to 2nd when his score came in, bumping Brazil’s Ivan Monteiro to 3rd and knocking Braden Hoban, the top qualifier from the Semifinal, off the podium.

It’s been a huge year for Agliardi, too, following his debut video part for Nyjah Huston’s Disorder Skateboards team last month and his silver medal at X Games Salt Lake City 2025 in June.

“I’m going to sleep with my trophy tonight,” Agliardi said on his way out of the venue after the contest.

And Ivan Monteiro making the podium fulfills the promise of the ThePlatfrm’s Video Qualifier Series (VQS) and the “Open” concept of the Rockstar Energy Open: The Brazilian skater, who just turned pro in April, was the $1,000 Week 7 winner of the the VQS in July, finished 4th in the On-Site VQS qualifier on Friday, and—just barely—earned his way into the top-10 Final on Saturday in… 10th place.

Now he’s rolling back to Brazil with a 3rd place trophy. Boom!
