Out with the old and in with the new! The first-ever snowboard Rockstar Energy Open (RSEO) has landed in Breckenridge, CO and the riders have already been feeling their way through the all-new course layout and features in advance of the weekend action ahead. Despite the occasional winds ripping through the course, the snowboarders continued to test the course and push their limits while taking their first laps.

As mentioned in the Course Preview and the Format Breakdown articles recently posted, this is an event designed for the ATV-style riders to shine. The course features a combination of unique rail gardens and traditional jumps, and RSEO is introducing a format that requires riders to get creative on a course that also features hips, quarterpipes and an interesting two-part jump with a pump bump in the middle to maintain speed.

“It's a very unique and fun course,” affirmed Mons Røisland once the practice session came to a close. “This makes snowboarding competitions very, very fun when the layout is like this—it's really cool to see. I'm excited to see what people do on it.” For a look at the full course, don’t miss Mons’ passthrough during practice for @theplatfrm Instagram page.
