Closing out Saturday at the 2026 Rockstar Energy Open was the Dickies Street Best Trick Cash Jam with $3,000 dished out as tricks were landed plus another $3,000 to the overall winner—Wyatt *HAM af* Hammond, to absolutely no surprise despite being the youngest skater on the course and earning his invite to the event through the Video Qualifier Series (VQS).

Wyatt went HAM on the course with multiple makes, but it was his full Cab backside tailslide on the 10-stair hubba ledge, that shut it down mid-contest. The contest literally stopped for a minute while everyone ran to congratulate him and stopped to applaud! He wasn’t even done, either, although that trick would ultimately win it all for him.

Wyatt continued to skate for the crowd, stomping bigspin kickflip to frontside boardslide down the handrail on the double set handrail, a kickflip backside tailslide down the hubba, hardflip over the handrail, kickflip frontside bluntslide on the handrail, and finally a backside tailslide to bigspin down the hubba.

“I think the reason that everything was working out is really just because I was having fun,” Wyatt said after the contest. “Tonight I put my mind to landing the full Cab back tail, and it worked out. And then once I’ve landed something that I wanted, I feel unstoppable in these jams, and that's kind of what happened. I just felt unstoppable and I kept landing tricks. Some of the other makes that I was stoked about were the kickflip back tail, the bigflip front board, and the kickflip front blunt. It just felt like everything was working out right.”

Wyatt said he was unphased by all the mayhem going on around him in the crowded session, fully locked in.

“I’m pretty good about tuning out that kind of chaos,” Wyatt said. “I just put my earbuds in, listen to my favorite songs, and get it done. Today I had Kanye West’s Graduation album on.”

Nixon’s Best Time award went to Steven Vasquez, also skating this weekend in from the VQS and already in for Sunday’s Street Final. Like Wyatt, Steven had multiple makes on the 10-stair handrail in the session, including a bigflip front board shuv-it and a bigspin bluntslide shuv-it.

“The Best Time award feels right because I was having a great time out there,” Steven said. “I don't want to sound cocky, but I wasn't really even trying. I was just having fun skating with my friends and for the fans. I try to never take things too seriously!”

Rockstar skater Braden Hoban’s many makes included an impossible to nosegrind on the bump to MASSIVE ledge spot, a kickflip frontside nosegrind frontside 180 out, and a backside kickflip nosegrind. It was his kickflip to backside noseblunt down the 10-stair double set hubba that the judges loved most.

Braden said the Best Trick Cash Jam is his favorite kind of contest.

“Just the energy, man! Like, there's so many fucking people here, and the skate park is really fun, and everyone's hungry to get tricks for these fans and grab some cash. It’s so fun to skate with everyone when the pressure’s off.”

Chris Joslin

The RSEO PDX 2025 Best Trick winner Chris Joslin fired off a bigspin down the double set, a heavy trick for most but clearly a warmup trick for the beast. Chris kept the hammers coming stomping tricks like a nollie hardflip late backside 180 and a nollie backside 360 heelflip down the stair gap.

Chloe Covell also went off, landing a kickflip frontside bluntslide bigspin out on the bump-to-bar over the grass gap. Margielyn Didal landed a late back foot heelflip over the bump to grass and rail gap. Mei Ozeki landed multiple tricks, including a backside Smith on the hubba, and Nanami Onishi landed multiple tricks including a 50-50 kickflip out.
