The Women’s Street Semi Final wasted no time on Friday at the 2026 Rockstar Energy Open (RSEO) when Chloe Covell cracked a 95.33 to secure the best score of the day.

A total of 13 women (three of which earned their invite through the Video Qualifier Series) took three :45-second runs with only their best score counting, but by the end it was only the top eight that advanced to skate in Saturday’s Final.

Rockstar skater Paige Heyn made the top-8 cut for the Final in 7th, but says her primary takeaway from the Qualifier was sheer awe at Chloe's performance.

"I'm so hyped on Chloe's run, star of the show right there,” Heyn said. “She was insane, and the energy of the crowd for it was great. Everyone's so stoked to be here and there's good vibes all around which is great. I feel like it makes everyone skate better when the energy is like this."

Chloe’s best run stood out in a league of it’s own starting with a nollie backside kickflip over the hip, kickflip crooked grind to bump to box, kickflip over the A-frame, kickflip frontside boardslide on the bump to bar gap, frontside nosegrind on the A-frame bar, backside smith down the 10-stair double set hubba, and a front feeble across and down on the pyramid rail.

“She just back smithed that hubba like it was in her way...get out the way!” said announcer and legend Shane Heyl of Chloe’s first run strength.

"Low key, I've just been having some good practices this week and having so much fun. I think that's the main thing: If I'm having fun then it shows in my skating," said Chloe of the enormous score she posted in the Qualifier.

This weekend is the first RSEO entry for the Australian, who has become a regular podium topper in other contests including X Games, Street League, and the World Skateboarding Tour. Last month at X Games New Orleans she set a new record for most X Games Women’s Street gold with her sixth X Games Street win.

“I’ve been wanting to come to Portland for this event because the competitions here always look so fun,” Covell said. “I like a big vibe, and I like getting to see like some of the girls and guys that I never usually see often. It’s been really fun to hang out with everyone this week”

The skater Covell was most excited to see in action? Mei Ozeki, who first earned her way into RSEO PDX in 2024 and won the VQS Qualifier that year, making the Final to finish 7th. In 2025, Ozeki made the RSEO podium, taking 3rd.

“Mei is so cool and has such crazy style,” Covell said. “She's always going hard and she goes super fast, so she’s really fun to watch.”
