Imagine working your ass off to make a part you’re proud of, but in the end, you still need a “last trick.” Everything depends on a memorable hammer. “Having a last trick that you’re satisfied with is very important to the whole process,” says Braden Hoban. Look back with Braden in this episode of The Process as he goes behind the scenes of his most recent part, Catalyst, and relives the nerves that came with filming his final trick. Wanting to end things on a high note, Braden landed on the legendary 21-stair Walnut rail.
“I had never been to the spot before,” Braden recalled, thinking back to the moment he brought out an entire crew to capture his frontside bluntslide attempts. Remembering how he stuck it first try, but then got a little stalled out, he found himself with a fresh hot pocket and a head full of doubt. Braden says he had never physically shaken like that while trying a trick before. “The scariest part for me was just thinking… this video part won’t be as good as it can be.”
